WHAT YOU GET:
A select menu of bar food with an artisan twist
The dark bar setting has a simple, eclectic vibe. The menu is also simple, a one page printout with a handful of starters, sandwiches, plates and desserts. Each item has a flavorful spin, like the Grilled Cheese with cheddar, smoked mozzarella, apple rosemary compote and hazelnut honey on pugliese bread. If that doesn’t get your mouth-watering, I don’t know what does. The wait staff is nice, not overly knowledgeable about the menu, but then again it is a pretty new place.
Po’ Boy – fried pollock, remoulade. kale, pickled onion and thyme on a baguette; with straight fries (they were out of the waffle fries) and lemon brown butter aioli to dip those straight fries in
Po’ Boy was Fabulous – it was so good, I want to go back for more, even though the bread to yummy goodness ratio was a bit heavy on the bread side
Fries were Fine – I liked them but didn’t love them, nothing like the waffle fries
Po’ Boy was Amazing. A little heavy on the onions, but the lightly battered fish was delicious.
Fries were Alright. A close second to their usual waffle fries which are Amazing.
Smoked Chicken – smoked chicken breast, kale, bacon, lemon brown butter aioli paired with a side salad
Smoked Chicken was Fine – I liked it but didn’t love it
Smoked Chicken was Average. The chicken was quite dry which was not a good match with the large bun.
Side Salad was Average. Typical mixed greens.
Pear Gorgonzola Bread Pudding with brown butter caramel and basil
Fine – I liked it but didn’t love it, having said that, I would definitely have it again, but if I had an option to choose between a bread pudding with a rum or whiskey sauce, I’d have to pick that option first.
Amazing – What an interesting mix of flavors!
