You Are Invited To:
Michelle (and Hubby)
Old Town Florissant
WHAT YOU GET:
Select menu of predictable appetizers, salads, and main dishes (don’t worry they’re not a la carte) that are all just the right portions. Nothing’s worse than going to enjoy a nice, multiple course meal, and you leave miserably stuffed.
Imagine a big, old, inviting house that is dimly light and gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling. The feeling where you are comfortably at home and want to curl up by the fire in a big fuzzy sweater with a glass of wine and a good book. Well, it’s pretty much like that. Once a grocery and general store in the 1800’s, this fine dining establishment is nestled in the heart of Florissant. If you don’t make reservations, no worries. Enjoy an adult beverage at the bar and listen to the pianist tickle the ivory. This was our situation which is why I was a bit tipsy by the time we were seated. Also, the wait staff was very professional and courteous.
Spinach Artichoke Dip with House Made Tortilla Chips
Amazing! The chips, which melted in your mouth, made up for the pre-package tasting dip.
House Salad with Poppy-seed Dressing and an Asiago Roll
Average. Just the right amount of dressing, and a good roll is always nice to have.
Bone-in Pan Seared Chicken on a bed of Orzo Pasta with Fire Roasted Sweet Corn and Peppers all drizzled with Chipotle Aioli
Amazing! Super moist chicken and the aioli was the perfect topping to this dish.
N.Y Strip Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Squash/Zucchini Medley (Hubby’s Selection)
Alright. Although the flavor and the cut of meat were good, it was over cooked (requested medium) so it was not nearly as juicy as it should have been. The taters were good, but the veggies were cold.
Cheesecake for Dessert
Alright. You’re typical cheesecake, although I like mine a little more dense.
