WHAT YOU GET:
Your typical St. Louis Italian menu. We did not get the two items which were highly suggested by the menu and the Foodie St. Louis card: “The” Toasted Ravioli and Chicken Spedini. Big fail on our part.
Ordinary “updated” Italian decor. Open and bright – not the dark, woody, Italian mafia restaurant you would imagine (i.e. Goodfellas). The wait staff was nice and attentive. We are, however, convinced that if you want “knock your socks off” Italian cuisine, you need to get your ass to Italy.
Italian Bread (of course) with Garlic Oil and Parmesan Dust….A yummy start.
Crab Stuffed Mushrooms with Garlic Cream Sauce
Fine (and Dandy). I liked them. I finished them. I’d order them again.
Alright. I am not a fan of mushrooms, but I gave them a whirl. The stuffing was good.
Classic Italian Salad with House Dressing
Fine. Not in love. Iceberg lettuce with good dressing. Nothing to write home about.
Awesome. Predictable, but I always like me an Italian salad.
Tortellini Donatella – Meat filled tortellini, mushrooms, salciccia, sun-dried tomato in a pesto cream sauce.
Fabulous. I”m giving this a Fabulous because I like tortellini, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and pesto cream sauce, but me no likey sausage all that much. Extra point for the cool plate.
Awesome. Lots of meaty goodness, but I brushed the mushrooms to the side.
Chicken Parmesan Sandwich with Mozzarella and Broccoli
Alright. Not enough cheese, chicken was dry and bland, and broccoli was wet.
COME HUNGRY….LEAVE IN A CARB COMA.
