WHAT YOU GET:
Breakfast in the bar! Roll on out after bar time, roll back in for a bloody mary and some eggs. The menu isn’t ginormous or anything, but it has all the options you need for breakfast: slingers, omelets, pancakes, french toast, steak and eggs, beignets, and more.
The place was already slightly busy at like 9:30 (we usually try to beat the after church crowd on Sunday’s). But there was plenty of seating when we arrived, we chose a table on the stage. Grabbed a high chair or two, haha, they apparently don’t get used much so they stuck together (this is after all a bar) we went with it, put the babe in a double tall high chair and steadied it with our feet. The service was fast and the food really good. The coffee was great too, it’s from the local roasters Chauvin, I recommend the coffee for sure, especially since you can get a bottomless cup with 2 beignets for $4. By the time we left the place was packed, apparently we aren’t the only ones hungry for good food at good prices.
French Toast with a side of Bacon
Fabulous – My breakfast of choice 9 times out of 10. Bacon and French Toast, sometimes with eggs over hard, sometimes with extra crispy hash browns. The bacon was perfectly crisp almost too crisp but not, which I LOOOVE and with no nasty fatty parts. Hmm hmm. French toast, the easiest breakfast item to make, how can you go wrong?
Beignets served with coffee
Fabulous – Another win-win. Warm fried dough smothered in sugar. Served with amazing coffee. Perfection.
Cheesy Biscuits and Sausage Gravy
Fabulous – I enjoyed these a lot (coming from Wisconsin where we do not eat or really like biscuits and gravy near as much as some do here)….Hammerstones B’s & G’s are now at the top of my list! The babe even loved these soft yummy biscuits and meaty gravy, he had an entire 1/2 biscuit with gravy which is not his norm.
The littles even get their own menu with fun and games. And look only $2.95, what a deal.
COME HUNGRY…..GET SOME BEIGNETS AND COFFEE
