WHO:

Michelle

WHERE:

Alton

WHEN:

Late lunch

WHAT YOU GET:

The best, cheap food you will ever eat (and the coldest beer in town)! Peel and eat shrimp, cheeseburgers, brats, fries, steak and pepper kabobs, chicken wings, and more all under $3.99 each. All cooked to order fresh off the grill. No doogie bags here. Cash only!

THE EXPERIENCE:

St. Louis and Alton unite! EMISTL has crossed the river.  As soon as the doors open, people swarm this local institution. You must be 21 to enter and like to get your shoulders rubbed……cause joint gets crowded. Because of the popularity (not to mention the inside smoking ban) Fast Eddie’s doubled the fun, bought the street, and….BAM!….you have a heated, covered, patio with two more bars and live music! Even if they quadrupled the place, it would still be crazy busy!  It started as a biker bar, and now people can’t stay away. The food’s fantastic, the people watching is great, it’s the best way to spend your Sunday Funday (or Birthday Party, Saturday night, random Tuesday afternoon, you know…)!

Fat Eddie Burger and Fries ($0.99 each)

Amazing! – A Fast Eddie’s staple. This is my 2nd favorite cheeseburger of all time. Big, juicy, smoky, and satisfying. Fries are cooked to perfection.

The Big Elwood – Seasoned Steak with Green Peppers

Amazing! – Who needs to go to get a $32 filet mignon when you can get a steak on a stick for $2.99! Juicy, tender, and flavorful.

Chick on a Stick – Seasoned Chicken Wings and Drummies on a Stick

Amazing! – They may be small, but they are mighty in flavor!  I admit, I’m a chicken wing snob….I must have them perfectly crispy, but in this case, the seasoning takes care of everything (I must steal that seasoning next visit). A little spicy, a little charred, a little smoky. Yummy!

COME HUNGRY…..LEAVE HAVING HAD THE MOST FUN YOU’VE HAD IN A LONG TIME!

  1. The first time I went to Fast Eddie’s, I couldn’t believe how cheap everything was. And Mike Shannon endorses it, so you know it has to be good.

Fun fact: “Bon Air” is French for “Good Air”.
