WHO:

Ashley & Michelle

WHERE:

Dogtown

WHEN:

Happy Hour

WHAT YOU GET:

Tastefully done tapas, pizzas, pastas, salads, and more. Don’t forget the great happy hour specials – $2 sangrias Tuesdays and Thursdays; half price bottles of wine Mondays and Wednesdays!

(oh, and don’t forget $1.50 24oz can of Bud Light Lime left over from St. Patty’s Day for Michelle. Score!) (and she’s not ashamed to love it or hide her excitement)

 THE EXPERIENCE:

Black, white, red, and Marilyn Monroe!  Trendy, intimate lounge feel.  The bar area is small which sort of translates into cozy, but not leather couch cozy.  We only peeked into the dining room, so we know nothing about it’s ambiance, we can only speculate that that is has a different feel.

The special – Prosciutto wrapped asparagus with red pepper sauce for starters

Ashley’s Rating:

Flawless – I actually threw my fork down and had to relish in the moment.

Michelle’s Rating:

Amazing! A little on the salty side, but very delicious! They need to put this one the menu for sure. I love how the Prosciutto and asparagus got a little crispy from the grilling. They put a little mini salad on the side as a garnish….cute (yep, went ahead and ate that too)!

Arugula Salad

Ashley’s Rating:

Fine – This was pretty darn good, I think it could accompany pretty much anything on the menu.

Michelle’s Rating:

Awesome – Yummy and refreshing, great honey mustard dressing, and it is a good size which salads tend to be, I guess, which is why we split it.

Sampler Combo – chicken spedini, Italian medallions, sautéed shrimp

Ashley’s Rating:

Shrimp – Fabulous, this was some good eats.  Yes, improper English at its best.  Worth a try from you and your friends…you bet.

Chicken Spedini – Fine, I’d never had this thing they spedini before, I am not sure what a spedini really is (yes I can Google it, but I think I prefer to stay in the dark about this).  It tasted good, I will certainly give it that, but I would order something else before I get this again.

Italian Medallions – Fine, meh. Good flavor but it didn’t blow me outta the pasture. Haha, steak, beef, cows, get it?

Michelle’s Rating:

Shrimp – Ambrosial! Perfectly cooked with a little breading and butter, butter, yum, yum, yum! Melt in your mouth.

Chicken Spedini – Average. It was good and a little dry, but didn’t stick out as one of the better chicken spedinis I’ve had.

Italian Medallions – Average. Beef was seasoned pretty good, but it was a little overdone for my taste.

Meal Quotes:

“they have Bud Light Lime!”

“what this isn’t on the menu?!?!”  to the waitress about the asparagus
